Essentially, Creative Capital is a capacity development programme specifically designed to meet the new funding and revenue challenges of the arts in England.  Its aim is to help arts organisations maximise the revenue and investment potential of their assets, be they tangible or intangible.

75 people from almost 40 cultural organisations across Yorkshire attended the launch of the programme on 10 May where we ran a World Café based on the theme ‘All Money Is Not the Same’.  Conversations were intense and the audience fully engaged in exploring the different ways of generating income without further recourse to the Arts Council.  The feedback we received was that the day had been illuminating.  35 organisations eventually submitted applications for the 20 places on the programme.

We were impressed by the level of interest expressed and are therefore looking to see if we can find the resources to run a series of Master Classes that we can open to a wider audience and particularly to those organisations who did not make the final cut.   It is, as they say, a good example of walking the talk!

In the meantime the CidaCo team  (Keith Evans, Margaret Bolton, Lara Ratnaraja and me) are looking forward to working with participating companies  and are now focused on putting in place the final designs for  our first day together on 6th June.

If your organisation missed the launch of the programme but might be interested in discussing a tailored programme , please contact dawn@cida.org for further details.  http://youtu.be/LcPRQ0dvUtM
